About The Oregon Society of Dowsers
Mike began the NW Dowsers in 1984. He was introduced to dowsing (water locating) in 1951. He spent the rest of his life studying and teaching this art. Mike could locate a well site and determine the depth of flow of the water. He could also remote dowse, and used it often when he hunted. Mike taught water dowsing at Portland Community College and Clackamas Community College. He founded the Northwest Society of Dowsers and organized the annual conventions for nearly 30 years. He was a member of the American Society of Dowsers and the Canadian Questers. To Mike, "No one was a stranger." Mike moved through the world with grace and a sense of humor and joy. He leaves a powerful legacy, touching many lives and teaching many lessons.

The Oregon Society of Dowsers is a Registered Charity, a chapter member of the American Society of Dowsers, founded in 1984 to promote dowsing in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. We presently offer a wide range of courses and training, and host a wide variety of meetings and activities centered on this ancient art, together with our annual conference held in September.
We warmly welcome new members and those people who wish to learn more about the fascinating and captivating art of Dowsing. You don't have to know how to dowse to become a member; our popular training courses can take you from enthusiastic beginner right through to professional level. We also publish regular E-newsletters with the latest news and events happening in the Dowsing World. Through our Register of Practitioners we offer a dowsing referral service, and act as a point of information to the public. Membership of the Society provides access to our wide range of events as well as the opportunity to meet with others interested in this fascinating and valuable field. The Society is run by our friendly team of staff based in Portland, Oregon.
